2012 Soaring Season Has Begun!!!

|
Members of the not-for-profit Saratoga Soaring Association began the 2012 soaring season on March 24th. During the 2012 season, we hope to surpass many of our 2011 season accomplishments. These include:
- Safely conducting over 1,700 accident free operations. These operations constitute a significant percentage of the general aviation activity at the Saratoga County Airport and are a factor in calculating Federal grant amounts used to maintain and improve the airport.
- Contributing over $3,000 to New York State and Saratoga County budgets through lease and fuel tax payments.
- Working with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation throughout the year to successfully protect the habitat of the Karner Blue butterfly.
- Continuing to support the youth of the area through our Jim Norton Scholarship program.
- Introducing over a dozen people to the sport of soaring through our introductory soaring flight program.
Come visit us during our 2012 season and learn more about the sport of soaring. We have several affordable ways for you to become involved in this exciting sport to include our $300 Solo Introductory Package, $800 Regular Membership Package or gift certificates for an introductory soaring flight. Contact our membership committee, Pamela Grandin (pgrandin@clipcorner.net) or Tony Hilferty (Anthony400@AOL.com) for additional information. |
